The following is the first in a series of blog posts about how Zeguro is applying its values to the company, its customers, and our employees. Please follow along as I lay out our journey.
Value #1 - “You First”
When we decided to create Zeguro, we did so based on years of personal experience at large and small companies - startups that became big, startups that stayed small, and enterprise-size banks and tech firms. The key to our business approach, even before we locked in our product strategy, was that we wanted to build a company that had a mission, culture and core belief in the people that we work with - customers, partners and employees. This central belief is our first value statement - You First. You First has meaning across every action we take, the offerings we provide, and the experience people have with Zeguro. As a definition, You First means:
The interactions, offerings and attitudes of Zeguro are centered around the benefit to the individual.
Let me explain how this looks in practice:You First for customers: Our products are built on the belief that, as a small or midsize enterprise, you have a lot on your plate. The last thing you want to worry about is cyber risk. Your startup, law firm, medical practice, or retail business needs to manage this risk in a simple, comprehensive way, and the rules keep changing. Applying You First to this need means putting ourselves in your shoes to understand your needs, being clear about our offering, tailoring the product to fit your business, and providing you with friendly and understandable service when an incident does arise. It also means when you read our site, receive an email, or talk to us directly, our focus will be on you.
You First for employees. We will hire people who embody the concept of You First because it is what our customers expect. But as the CEO and chief employer, I want to make sure we are treating our employees with the same customized experience. That extends to working styles, equipment preferences and benefits. Is your dog’s (or dogs’) care critical to your ability to focus? We’ll cover you. Is commuting getting out of hand? We’ll find a trade off to making sure you are plugged into the company when you can’t make it in. We do everything possible to make sure our team can balance the demands of startup life with the realities of personal lives.
You First for partners. This attitude and value also extends to our ecosystem. We work with SaaS providers, investors, insurers and more. All of them get to know us and work with us under the same guiding principal. We’re not saying we don’t negotiate for what we need. But we are conscious of the impact that a You First attitude has on having a strong, strategic partnership built on trust.
We hold the door open, and usher you in before walking in ourselves. That is You First at Zeguro.
