Cybercriminals are capitalizing on the ongoing global pandemic and remote work trend by sending out phishing emails and ransomware at much higher rates. Some are even posing as the CDC or WHO in an attempt to lure users into giving up sensitive data or installing malware. The rise in these attacks plus the shift to employees working from home put SMB’s in particular at risk as they lack dedicated cybersecurity teams or large budgets.
The reality is, most small business owners are unaware that their businesses are just one email or click away from massive financial loss. With 300,000 new malware being created every day and new types of viruses being developed that bypass basic firewalls and defenses, it is more critical now than ever for businesses to protect their hard work and take command of their cybersecurity.
